The Third Age and the Rehobot Foundation
The University of Zagreb organizes every year courses for retirees who want to broaden and deepen their cultural interests or to devote themselves to hobbies that they were unable to achieve in their youth, such as sculpture, music, singing, painting and more.
The Rehobot Foundation collaborates with some of these third age groups to give a humanitarian purpose to their creative and playful activities.
In addition to the skills they acquire and the advantage of achieving greater sociability, overcoming loneliness, these over sixty-year-old students broaden the interests and motivations of their choices.
- Christmas 2019, the music and singing group performed in the church of San Francesco in Zagreb. The entrance ticket was: a free gift of sweets that the same group then donated to the children of an Institute.
- At the end of the year, the sculpture and painting group offered some paintings to a retirement home to brighten and embellish the walls of the common rooms.
- The artistic group made themselves available to set up the choreography of a performance in a kindergarten
There are many examples and the wonders of collaboration between generations make this project particularly meaningful and repeatable.
